Members Profile: WBAC's Dennis Tritaris

This month we introduce Dennis Tritaris as the new WBAC coordinator. Working with the Chamber for a number of years in various roles, including as website developer, Dennis brings with him a wealth of experience including founding his own successful web and business consultancy, Orama Communications.

“As WBAC coordinator I’ll be responsible for the smooth running of the organisation, keeping an eye on stakeholders, member relations and the successful running of our events. I see the Chamber as a living and vibrant organism with a very diverse membership base,” Dennis says.

“I’d like to make sure that all members receive valuable support from the Chamber. This will be achieved with the timely and accurate dissemination of information on activities that are useful across our membership base. My goal will be that our members’ events and all our communications will have a meaningful impact and deliver tangible outcomes.

In my new role as WBAC coordinator, I love the fact that I have the opportunity to work not only with businesses but also with organisations devoted to the arts. I really enjoy walking through the historical area of the Rocks on my way from Circular Quay - I like to use a different route every time. There is so much history in the area and so many new places to discover. The opportunity to market the area and create great opportunities for cooperation amongst our members excites and motivates me.

But the next couple of years are not without challenges. The upcoming redevelopment of the area will impact some of our members and the mix of our events. We work closely with the COS and our members to make sure that this impact is as small as possible. From the discussions I have already had I can see that the community is keen to see such challenges as a great opportunity for growth and I’m looking forward to working hard towards the best outcomes.”

On Walsh Bay, Dennis’s love affair is well established.

“Walsh Bay is such a gem of an area. There is so much on offer, especially if you love the arts, good food and history in a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. I’ve watched the local arts and business community grow over the last 13 years into a truly unique city destination. I am really looking forward to spreading the word as well as working with WBAC members and friends to continue to evolve this wonderful community.”
